Advanced Acting Methods

Mondays from 5:30 PM to 6:30PM - Take the next step into acting by putting a monologue on its feet! Jump into your favorite musical theatre piece! Grab a partner and discover the scene work process! Recommended for elementary and middle school performers who wish to take their theatre experience to the next level. $50 per student per month. 

Mondays from 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM- Lights! Camera! Action! It’s your turn! Explore the arena of acting for camera and learn the techniques for creating an effective on-screen performance. Gain a better understanding of the film industry and how it works. $50 per student per month 

Wednesdays from 6:00 PM- 7:00 PM – A challenging atmosphere for the serious actor! This acting intensive class is for experienced high school actors who seek a challenging atmosphere in which to study the many approaches, methods, and styles of theatrical performance created by well-known practitioners such as Stanislavsky, Brecht, Boal, Hagen, Adler, Shurtleff, Strasberg, and others. $50 per student per month

Tuesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM - Add some new tools to your belt or sharpen some old 

ones. Adult actors (ages 17 and up) are invited to explore various subjects ranging from audition 

technique to directing. You can pick which classes you want to attend or you can save by 

purchasing a class card which is valid for 4 classes. Most classes will be led by director Eric 

Browne, but some will feature guest artists from the area. $15 per class or $50 for a class card

Sept. 11- Audition Methods- Conquering the Cold Read 

Sept. 18- Audition Methods- Musical Theatre Dance Workshop with Shey Thomas-Thorn 

Sept. 25- Audition Methods- Mock Audition with notes from professional artists 

Oct. 2- Acting for the Camera: Audition Technique 

Oct. 9- Acting for the Camera: Drama/Comedy/Commercials 

Oct. 16- Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed (Recommended for actors, directors, teachers, 

community organizers and non-profit organizations) 

Oct 23- Improvised Dance/Movement with Shey Thomas-Thorn 

Nov. 6- Intro to Directing: Stage Composition and Text Analysis 

Nov.13- Applied Directing with notes from professional artists
